Chinese folk dance: The Chinese folk dance class is a introduction of different styles of dance of the Chinese minority groups. The course content shall focus on two objectives:
Firstly, the styles of Han (Northeast, Shandong, Anhui and so on), Tibetan, Mongolian, Uighur, Korean and Dai, recognized as the backbone of Chinese Folk Dance will be taught. The technically details, elements and methods shall follow professional standards established in Chinese Dance Academies and universities. Each dance shall be taught a step-by-step manner, so students can accurately grasp the requirements. Secondly, the class shall focus on rehearsing the finished repertoire for performance purposes. By presenting the whole picture in the rehearsal of the dances learned, the students will come full circle and have a clear understanding of the culture and tradition of the minority nations, and eventually mastering the characteristics of folk dance styles with emotional content.
